I went shopping for vegetables and never thought this is what I will be back with. Something which didn't cost me money but gave me a lesson and a spat on my face.
These were the confident and determind strides, walking with a book tucked safely under an arm and giving value to every second. No it wasn't a teenager or a grown up but a kid who was 7 years of age ( though his height seemed of 5).
At well past dusk walking fast and alone taking good care of himself and knowning where he is going very well. It seemed not that a kid from a humble background is seen walking but a Czar of the future!!
Not able to control my curiosity about him I walked and caught onto him and asked the conversation was as follows:
me: akele ho ?
him: (looked at me and thought if he should answer or not and then said) haan
All this while he was walking and no one could slow his walk. It only grew faster.
me: mummy nai hai ?
him: nai
me: umar kya hai tumhari
him: saath
me: ghar kahan hai tumhara?
him: abi tho powai jana hai ( he is walking in Marol!! People of Mumabi would know the distance is huge and that too for a kid all of 7 and all alone!!)
me: chal ke jaoge ???? ( in utter shock !!)
him: yes (calmly and composed)
Then suddenly his pencil box lost hold and flew in the air out of his well tucked hand and onto the middle of the road. I got scared he would be run over by a car.But he watched the road and picked up everything from it very fast and started walking again wasting no time.
me: naam kya hai tumhara? He said something i didn't get because of the street noice and asked him a name I thought I heard
me: rohit?
In disagreement said again and I again missed his name, so he spelt it out for me in patience
him : its U B A I D... ubaid
I repeated it and suddenly struck by his aura slowed my walk while he carried on with his journey.
He didn't just leave but he left behind some real lessons for a grown up like me:
1) No one is too young to do anything all you need is a
WILL2)
Maturity doesn't come of age some people have it more than the grown ups
3)
Confidence and
focus never makes you feel lonely even in the most difficult times and hardships.
4) Do not let other stop you from achieving your goal but at the same time do not ignore others while trying to achieve it.
U B A I D ... I am sure this kid will make it big someday. He had something about him that made you respect him.
